I was disturbed by your letter claiming that the reason you were not hired for the position of <position> because of <supposed reason>. Let me assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. At <company name>, we do not make hiring decisions based on such matters, but only on the qualifications of the applicants and how well they fit into our plans.
The fact that you were not hired for the position had only to do with the fact that <reasons>. So please rest assured that simple competition, not <supposed reason>, is the reason you are not working for us today.
