Letter for Offer Of Partial Payment As Payment In Full

Collection agencies will often accept an offer of partial payment as payment in full because they "buy" debts from the original creditor at a fraction of the dollar amount outstanding. If you have an account in collection, it never hurts to offer to make a partial payment. In this sort of arrangement, however, the entire amount must usually be paid in a lump sum.

Re: Account No. <account number>

Concerning the outstanding balance on the above-referenced account, I would like to make an offer of partial payment to be accepted as payment in full. I understand the full amount of the debt is currently <full amount $>. I would be willing to make a lump sum payment of <payment offer> to satisfy this delinquent debt.

Please advise if this arrangement is acceptable to you. I look forward to hearing from you.
